Hall County Fire Services collects $96,000 in ‘Give Burns the Boot’ campaign

For the fifth year in a row, Hall County Fire Services has collected the most money out of more than 100 fire departments in the "Give Burns the Boot" drive.

The collection happened over a three-day period in October, and Hall County citizens donated $96,000.

"We would like to offer our sincere thanks to the citizens of Hall County for their continued generosity and support," said Chris Armstrong, Hall County Fire Services Chief, in a press release. "We know this year has been tough on all of us, and we are incredibly humbled by your willingness to donate to such a worthy cause during these difficult times."

Normally, Hall County Fire Services would put a portion of the money toward fire safety and burn prevention programs in the community, but because of the pandemic, all proceeds will go to the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Since 1990, the program has collected over $14 million for the foundation.
