3 Gainesville Police officers move up the ranks

By Alyson Shields Reporter

Three officers have been promoted in the Gainesville Police Department, effective this past Monday.

Sergeant Erin Escalante was promoted from Detective and will supervise the Community Relations Unit; Lieutenant Kevin Holbrook was promoted from Corporal and is now the commander of the Specialized Services Division. Holbrook will oversee units like Community Relations, as well as the traffic, motor, K-9 and school resource officer units, as well as continue to serve in public relations.

Josh Adams was promoted to Captain, and he will now oversee the Operations Bureau. Uniform patrol and criminal investigations units make up that bureau.

The three officers were pinned by their families at a ceremony on November 2.
