Gainesville PD investigating crash involving 11-year-old cyclist

The Gainesville Police Department is investigating an injury crash last night involving an 11-year-old cyclist on Buena Vista Circle.

According to a report from Corporal Jessica Van with Gainesville PD, the incident took place around 6:30 p.m. last night. A Ford F-150 truck was traveling on Buena Vista Circle near Catalina Drive when the 11-year-old left their driveway on their bicycle and entered the roadway, colliding with the truck.

"The child did suffer serious injuries and was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta," said Van.

Van said that the unidentified child is in stable condition. She said that the truck driver remained at the scene and all parties cooperated.
