ROME — Lakeview Academy could not continue its best run since 2016 dropping a tough 23-15 decision to Coosa on Friday.
The Lions (2-2) had won two straight games with an improved offense and a revamped defense. They could not make it three in a row.
Lakeview fell behind 9-0 late in the first quarter but cut it to 9-7 just before the end of the period.
Early in the second, a disastrous pick-6 helped the Eagles push their lead to 16-7 and both teams traded touchdowns and 2-point conversions in the fourth quarter.
