A man is dead and a woman is injured after an early morning shooting Monday on Wheylon Drive in Lawrenceville.
According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, the double shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. Police were called to the scene in the 2000 block of Wheylon Drive after a female called to report that multiple people had been shot.
When officers arrived at the location, they found the deceased male in front of the residence. The press release says the male appeared to have been shot at least one time.
Police also located a female victim that had been shot, however, her injuries were non-life-threatening.
Gwinnett County Police Detectives believe that the parties were familiar with each other and that the shooting was the result of a domestic incident, according to the press release. One person was taken into custody.
Gwinnett County Police are waiting to reveal the names of everyone involved until next of kin is notified.
