Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services reported on their Facebook page that crews responded to a house fire Friday afternoon at approximately 2:44 p.m. in the 1500 block of New Hope Road in Lawrenceville.
Firefighters used two hose lines to fully extinguish the flames.
The fire was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.
No details were released on whether any residents were home at the time or if any injuries occurred.
The department reminds homeowners to check that smoke alarms are present and functioning properly in their homes.
