Volleyball: North Hall beats Bluff, 2-1; No. 7 Raiders remain undefeated

GAINESVILLE —North Hall won 2-of-3 sets to knock off Region 7-3A foe, Cherokee Bluff, Wednesday at home.

North Hall (10-8, 1-0) opened the match with a set-one win, 25-14. Bluff (6-6, 0-1) rallied back to tie the match with a 25-23 win in the second set, but North Hall earned the win in the tie-breaker set, 15-9, to win the match.

Maci Gillespie led the Trojans with 22 assists, six kills and one ace, while Grace Hollifield added 14 kills, two blocks and one ace. Madison Brock finished the day with seven kills, four aces and eight digs.

Laure Ross recorded three kills, one ace and one dig and Sage Sutulovich turned in four kills, one block and six digs to lead the Bears. Camille Godrey

Madi Phillips had three kills, one ace, two blocks and two digs; Camille Godfrey had one ace and six digs; Jaydn Jarrard scored 10 digs; Brandyn Peterson had one kill and a block; Finley Millwood finished with two kills, while Tristan Boling had five digs. Sydney Jones finished with one block and Abi Whitaker turned in two kills, one block and one dig.

Habersham Central 2, Winder-Barrow 0; Habersham Central 2, Lanier 0 -- Class 6A seventh-ranked Habersham Central added two more wins to the schedule, shutting out Winder-Barrow and Lanier, 2-0 on Tuesday.

The Raiders (18-0, 4-0) beat the Bulldoggs in straight sets (25-13-25-19) and Lanier (25-17, 25-11).

Habersham Central will play host to Lumpkin County on Thursday.
