War Eagles split tri-match with East Jackson and Jackson

GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee volleyball team split the tri-match against East Jackson and Jackson County at home on Tuesday.

Senior outside Chloe Riley led the Chestatee volleyball team with eight digs, and sophomore libero Ariana Hernandez contributed seven in the sweep (25-19, 25-16) against East Jackson. 

Sophomore middle Logan Wiggins shut down East Jackson’s offense with 4 solo blocks. Senior outside, Lindsey Bornhorst led the team with 7 kills followed by Wiggins and Riley who contributed 4 kills apiece. 

The War Eagles started slow in the first set against Jackson County, falling behind and losing 25-16, and failed to finish in the set second set, losing a close one, 25-22.

 

Senior setter Maggie McNair and Hernandez led the team in digs both contributing 6 a piece. Bornhorst led the team with 7 kills followed by Wiggins who contributed 4. 

Chestatee will play host to Madison County and North Hall on Thursday. Matches will start at 5 p.m.
