CLEVELAND – White County piled up 632 totals yards of offense to blow past Lumpkin County 49-6 at White County Stadium Friday night.
Junior quarterback J Ben Haynes was 11-18 with 210 yards and Zion McMullen had 12 carries for 123 yards and three touchdowns.
The Warriors forced a Lumpkin fumble on the Indians’ first drive of the game then scored on their next four possessions. Andrew Pierce’s 27-yard field goal late in the third quarter pushed the Warriors’ lead to 31-0.
In the second half, McMullen scored on a 2-yard run and Pierce nailed a 43-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Lumpkin’s Tucker Kirk scored the Indians only touchdown on a 11-yard run in the third quarter.
White County’s Ryley Stancil scored the Warriors final touchdown on a 10-yard run during the running-clock fourth quarter.
The Warriors (1-0) will travel to Habersham Central Friday. Lumpkin (0-2) will visit Jackson County. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
