Vigil planned tonight for slain Hall County deputy

A candlelight vigil is planned for Tuesday, July 9 for Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon.

Dixon was shot and killed while pursuing a burglary suspect Sunday night in Gainesville.

A vigil is planned for 8:00 p.m. at the Hall County Law Enforcement Center at 2859 Browns Bridge Road.

Flags are currently flying at half staff at the law enforcement center as a tribute to Deputy Dixon. He is the fourth Georgia law enforcement officer to die in the line of duty in 2019.
