By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

A Gainesville man is in the Hall County Jail accused of throwing a child against a wall and several other charges including rape and child molestation.

In a release, the Hall County Sheriff's Office said 35-year-old Troy Alan March was arrested on May 7 on charges stemming from allegedly throwing the boy, who is reported to be less than seven years old, at a home on Old Cornelia Highway. As officials investigated the case, more charges were filed.

The sheriff's office said March was also charged with rape and attempted aggravated sodomy on May 16 stemming from alleged incidents in August 2018 and January 2019 respectively. They say the victim of those alleged incidents was a woman March lived with.

On May 16, the sheriff's office said investigators charged March with three counts of child molestation stemming from alleged incidents that happened between January and May. March is accused of attempting to force the woman to perform sex acts in the presence of three children.

Officials are still investigating the incidents and March is in jail without bond.
