Thousands of people gathered at Wilshire Trails Park Sunday afternoon for the 23rd Annual Sunday in the Parks & Butterfly Release event.
Exhibitors ranged from environmental educators to brownie troops and attendees enjoyed food, beverages, face-painting, sailboat races, and warm weather.
About 2,500 people attended this year's event and the main event included each person simultaneously released 1,500 butterflies into the air.
