GAINESVILLE – Johnny Torres-Cruz set the tone early in the Chestatee boys soccer team's 10-0 win over Gilmer County in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Torres-Cruz scored the first two goals of the match – three minutes apart – to put the War Eagles up, 2-0.
Uriel Rocha led the way offensively for the War Eagles, with the hat trick. Rocha scored his first goal before the half, then added three more in the second half.
Juan Carlos Venegas, Fernando Villa, Miguel Garcia and Jeyson Garcia each scored a goal in the win.
"We had a lot of guys get in the attack, a lot of guys scoring goals," Chestatee coach Mike Herrin said. No matter who you're playing, get out and set that first statement."
Chestatee will host Oconee County on Thursday.
