DAHLONEGA — After winning the Peach Belt Conference tournament earlier in the day, the No. 22 University of North Georgia women's basketball team learned that they will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Southeast Regional.

Anderson, riding a 27-game winning streak, will be the host school and the No. 1 seed.

The Nighthawks will battle Emmanuel, the seventh seed, in the opening round Friday. The winner will play either No. 3 Wingate or No. 6 Clayton State Saturday evening in the regional semifinal.

The other side of the bracket features top-seeded Anderson taking on No. 8 Barton and No. 4 Carson-Newman taking on No. 5 Lander in the quarterfinals.

This is North Georgia's second trip in a row and third trip overall to the NCAA Regional round. UNG has won at least one game in each regional they have been selected to.

More details, including official game times, will be released later this week.
