GAINESVILLE — In a physical battle throughout, the Gainesville boys escaped with a tough 2-0 win over Chestatee at War Eagle Stadium.
The game as a scoreless draw for the 63 minutes before Cesar Ramirez broke the tie on a goal with 17 minutes left on an assist from Armando Hernandez. Jose Aguilera scored the clincher for the Red Elephants with just a minute left.
Eduardo Bautista recorded the shutout in goal for Gainesville (5-0).
After a 1-0 loss to Johnson on Tuesday, Wednesday's loss marks the first time in nearly two years that Chestatee (2-2-1) has suffered back-to-back losses.

The Lady Red Elephants (2-2) jjumped on the Lady War Eagles (2-3-1) early en route to the road victory.
Chestatee did not until just 8 seconds left on a Greysen Wood goal assisted Kyleigh Drew.
The War Eagles will take on Lakeview Acadey at home on Friday.
Both Gainesville teams will open Region 8-6A play at home on Friday against Apalachee.
