OAKWOOD — The Johnson girls got their first win of the season with a 9-1 rout of West Hall in The Battle of Oakwood.
Senior Dani Malone scored four times to lead the Lady Knights (1-1)., Senior Maria Rivera and sophomore Jenna DeGroot each found the net twice and junior Carla Avalos scored once for Johnson. Maria Rivera also assisted on several goals for the Lady Knights.
Johnson next will play host to Flowery Branch on Tuesday.
West Hall (0-2) will travel to Dawson County on Monday.

The Red Elephants (2-0) got two goals from Armando Hernandez, each assisted by Pedro Santos, in a victory at City Park Stadium.
Gainesville next will travel to Chestatee (1-0-1) on Tuesday in the first showdown of top area programs on the season. The War Eagles were the Class 4A state runners-up in 2018.
