DAWSONVILLE — Chestatee improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 4-0 shutout win over Dawson County Wednesday.
Benson Miller went the distance on the hill for the War Eagles surrendering just one hit and striking out 9 in a complete-game win.
Miller, Will Cantrell, and Clay Tyas each had a hit and an RBI for Chestatee. Nolan Turner and MJ Jarrard also had a hit and Atticus Tomcho had an RBI for the War Eagles.
Hunter Sapp started for Dawson County (0-1) and went two innings allowing just one hit and no walks while striking out five. Cameron Moore took the loss for the Tigers allowing four runs on two hits and four walks in two innings of work.
TJ Allen had the lone Dawson County hit.
The Tigers are off until traveling to Prince Avenue on Tuesday.
Chestatee travels to Hart County on Friday as part of five straight road games to open the season.

University of Georgia-commit Lane Watkins earned the win on the mound going two innings allowing just one hit and striking out three. Rem Maxwell went two innings yielding one hit and walking two and Brycen Jewell pitched the final inning surrendering two hits.
Watkins and Ryan Cooper each belted two-run home runs in an 8-run second to lead the Dragons offense. Mason Cooper, Zac Corbin, and Sammy Elegreet each had two hits while Brycen Jewell, Rem Maxwell, and Cole Watkins had one hit apiece.
The Dragons travel to St. Pius on Saturday for a doubleheader.

East Jackson exploded for 10 runs to knock off Johnson Wednesday afternoon.
Cole Sealey struck out 10 Knights through five innings while only giving up 2 hits in the win. Caleb Adair tossed two no-hit innings and struck out five to pick up the save.
Dylan Varner and Sealey were the offensive leaders for the Eagles going 2-for-3 at the plate. Along with the save, Adair also drove in two runs.
East Jackson (1-0) will play host to Cedar Shoals in a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.

North Gwinnett handed Flowery Branch its first loss of the season Wednesday at home.
On the mound, Zander Sechrist pitched 2 and one-third innings, allowing 3 hits, 4 Ks. Andrew Armstrong went 2.2 innings surrendering 2 hits and tallying 4 strikeouts. Woeltje came in in the bottom of the 6th to work out a 1 out bases loaded jam by striking out the next two guys.
The Falcons 0-1-1 will host Social Circle Saturday. First pitch is 11 a.m.
