No foul play suspected in discovery of body at Tidwell Park on Lake Lanier

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says they believe a man who was found dead at Tidwell Park Friday afternoon took his own life.

Cpl. Doug Rainwater said in an email a park visitor walking his dog made the discovery near the shoreline of Lake Lanier in the area of the boat ramp at the park.

Rainwater said it appeared the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The body was found around 2:30 p.m.

The man's name was not released.
