Dillard’s top law enforcement officer found himself in trouble with law Friday night.
Dillard Police Chief Jeremy Welch was arrested by troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa during a road check at Rickman Street and Warwoman Road in Clayton about 11 p.m., according to Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson of GSP Post 7 in Toccoa.
Welch is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, Johnson said.
