PHOTO GALLERY: Events give Northeast Georgians plenty to do

It's been a busy weekend across Northeast Georgia.

The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair got underway Friday, Sept. 7, with Kids' Farm Day, offering Habersham County fourth-graders an opportunity to learn more about agriculture and its importance.

In Helen, the city's 48th-annual Oktoberfest celebration got underway at the Festhalle. On Saturday, the city celebrated the event's arrival with the annual parade through downtown, attended by several thousand people.

Also on Saturday, the Sautee Nacoochee Cultural Center held Touch-A-Truck: Family Safety, Health and Preparedness Fair, offering families the opportunity to meet responders, view emergency vehicles and learn how to be better prepared in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.

In Cleveland, Babyland General Hospital hosted a party celebrating the 40th birthday of the Cabbage Patch Kids.

On Sunday, the annual Ride to Remember 9/11 memorial motorcycle ride traveled through the region remembering all who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, and honoring the nation's military and public safety personnel. Watch for photographs of that event in AccessWDUN's upcoming Sept. 11 photo gallery.
