Hall County Sheriff's Office annual car show funds holiday bicycle program

The Hall County Sheriff's Office is already working on raising money for its annual Christmas bicycle program. Each year, the department gives bicycles to children in need, and one of the ways the program is funded is through the annual Car Show and Shine event.

The event features a variety of vehicles, according to HCSO Capt. Cindy Mustachio.

"Military vehicles to cop cars, of course, and then classics, new, low-riders, you name it, they all kind of show up in droves," she said.

Mustachio and Public Information Officer Derreck Booth were guests Friday on the Bill and Joel Morning Show.

"We basically buy these bicycles through a number of community partners and they're distributed at Christmas time so that parents that may be struggling to provide gifts have something to put under the tree - and something pretty cool," said Booth.

The event is Saturday, August 11 at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters on Browns Bridge Road. It is free to the public and $25 for those who want to enter a vehicle.
