Hall County GOP holds runoff straw poll at annual picnic

The Hall County Republican Party has released the results of a gubernatorial primary runoff straw poll that was held at an annual party picnic on Saturday.

Party Chairman Matt Smith said the poll asked attendees to vote on Republican runoffs for governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state. Smith released the results of the poll in an email, saying 175 attendees cast ballots.

The results are listed below:

Governor:

  • Casey Cagle - 94 (53.7%)
  • Brian Kemp - 76 (43.4%)
  • Undecided - 5 (2.8%)

Lieutenant Governor:

  • David Shaffer - 113 (64.5%)
  • Geoff Duncan - 56 (32.0%)
  • Undecided - 6 (3.4%)

Secretary of State:

  • David Belle Isle - 109 (62.2%)
  • Brad Raffensperger - 55 (31.4%)
  • Undecided - 11 (6.2%)

The poll was open to the public. The runoff elections will be held on July 24.
