Jefferson, Jasper lawmakers named to state House committee that will study school security

Georgia House Speaker David Ralston has named the member of a House committee that will study school security in the state - and they include two representatives from northeast Georgia, Tommy Benton of Jefferson and Rick Jasperse of Jasper.

Jasperse will serve as the chairman of the committee.  

The other members are:

       Rep. Mandi Ballinger – Vice Chair (R-Canton)

       Rep. Heath Clark (R-Warner Robins)

·      Rep. Katie Dempsey (R-Rome)

·     Rep. Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee)    

      Rep. Randy Nix (R-LaGrange)

·     Rep. Brian Prince (D-Augusta)

·     Rep. Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park)

The first meeting of the committee will be held May 14, at 10:00 a.m. at the Dawson County Board of Education Professional Development Center in Dawsonville.
