A vascular surgeon with links to the northeast Georgia region is ready to care for new patients through Northeast Georgia Physicans Group (NGPG).
Dr. William Zickler recently joined the NGPG's Vascular Center and is now seeing patients in Gainesville and Dawsonville.
Dr. Zickler is following in the footsteps of his vascular surgeon father and completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Mount Sinai Health System in New York. A release from NGPG this week says Dr. Zickler was trained in state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques while at Mount Sinai and used devices that were part of clinical trials and have since been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
Dr. Zickler earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University in Atlanta, then earned his medical degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia and completed a residency and internship in general surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, before completing his fellowship training in New York.
Dr. Zickler recently noted, “It’s staggering to witness how much innovation is happening in the field of vascular surgery, which can save and dramatically improve people’s lives. I was drawn to NGPG Vascular Center, which is part of Georgia Heart Institute, because both groups are committed to providing that level of innovative care. I am excited to have this opportunity to practice in Gainesville and Dawsonville so I can be close to family in the area."
He also says, “Patients deserve a welcoming environment that promotes comfort and ease. I will always treat others the way I wish to be treated, with honesty and integrity.”
