*The White County Republican Party will host a forum Monday night for all announced candidates running for office in White County.   It will be held in the Chad Knott building, located at 670 E. Kytle Street, Cleveland.  The entrance and parking are in the rear of the building.  Refreshments will be served beginning at 6:00 with the forum beginning at 6:30.

 *New Holland Knowledge Academy in Gainesville hosted 18 local organizations and individuals Friday for Career Day for its K-5 students.

*Dahlonega's 22nd Bear on the Square Mountain Festival has tied the record high number of sponsors for its annual festivities, which was originally set just last year. This year's event will be held around the town's Historic Public Square Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22. For more details visit www.bearonthesquare.org.

*Forsyth County Parks & Recreation will host its first Spring Fling at the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center April 21. It will include free crafts, games, and workshops for all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginning at noon, visitors ages eight and up can try out the climbing tower, zip line and tree climbing for $15 per person.

*Georgia Music Camp, as part of its 2018 summer program, announces the residency of Dr. Kim Robson. Dr. Robson will teach at the camp June 4-8 and will also present a concert along with recording artist Russell Ferrara at St Mary & Saint Martha Episcopal Church in Buford on Saturday, June 9. The camp will be held at the church located at 4346 Ridge Road.

*The Cornelia Downtown Development Authority announces that Wolf Creek BBQ received a sign grant when it expanded its mobile food truck into a brick and mortar located at 727 North Main Street. The sign grant is a reimbursable grant available for qualified downtown business and property owners.

*The University of North Georgia is bucking a national trend in foreign languages. According to a new study by the Modern Language Association, enrollment in language courses other than English fell 9.2 percent in colleges and universities across the country between fall semester 2013 and fall 2016.  But, UNG's enrollment numbers are increasing exponentially based on figures in the MLA report.
