Soccer: Chestatee girls shut out rival North Hall; East Hall boys, Union girls open 7-AAA with wins

GAINESVILLE — The Chestatee girls soccer team snapped a two-match winless streak with a 3-0 victory over rival North Hall Friday night at War Eagle Stadium.

Chestatee (3-3-1) had not won in nearly two weeks since knocking off Cartersville at home.

For North Hall (2-3-1) it was the second straight loss for the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Trojans next will play host to Lumpkin County on Tuesday in the Region 7-AAA opener for both teams.

Chestatee will play host to Johnson on Tuesday in a non-region battle.

UNION COUNTY 0

The Vikings opened Region 7-AAA play with a win over the Panthers in Blairsville.

East Hall (5-2, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) got a hat trick and two assists from Sergio Turcios. Freddy Rebollar scored a goal, Romeo Serrano had one goal and one assist, Angel Mejia scored the first goal of his high school career, and Kevin Bran provided one assist for the Vikings.

The Vikings defense did not allow a shot on goal throughout the entire contest.

 

UNION COUNTY GIRLS 9,
EAST HALL1

The Lady Panthers routed East Hall in both teams' region openers.
 
Alivia Myers scored the only goal on the night for the Lady Vikings while Rosa Montes the assist.
 
East Hall fell to (0-5-2, 0-1 Region 7-AAA) with the loss.

East Hall next will travel to West Hall on Tuesday.
