Braselton man killed in accident at Primex Plastics in Oakwood

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been called to investigate an accident that left a Braselton man dead early Wednesday morning at Primex Plastics in Oakwood.

Cameron Lamar Adams, 39, an employee at Primex, was killed when he was run over by a semi-truck around 2:15 a.m., according to Oakwood Police Chief Randall Moon.

Charges are not expected against the driver.

"The truck driver wasn't doing anything improper. He wasn't on the phone, not intoxicated. Drugs didn't play into it. He just, unfortunately, sadly, did not see (Adams)," said Moon in an interview with AccessWDUN.

OSHA has declined to comment, but did confirm in an email to AccessWDUN an investigation has been launched.

What that investigation could be centered around, according to Moon, is the complex's lighting.

"Not that the city of Oakwood has had any problems with it, but it's my understanding that the lighting in the parking lot has been questioned in the past," said Moon.

Primex Plastics is located on Old Oakwood Road, north of Ga. 53.
