Forsyth County man killed in vehicle, dump truck accident Saturday in Jackson County

A man from Cumming was killed in an accident with a dump truck on Interstate 85 in Jackson County Saturday night.
 
Micah Marshall was driving a Mini Cooper south in the left lane of the interstate near mile marker 127 when he struck the rear of a dump truck that was stopped after it had become disabled for an unknown reason, according to SFC Tim Meyer with the State Patrol Post in Athens.
 
The dump truck was traveling in the left, southbound lane as well and had come to a stop due to traffic congestion when it became disabled. The left lane, further south, was closed due to roadwork. Meyer said the driver, Donald Tolbert of Dawsonville, placed emergency warning triangles behind his vehicle.
 
Marshall suffered a fatal injury when his Mini Cooper hit the truck. Tolbert was not in the vehicle during the crash and was not injured.
 
Meyer said the accident happened around 11:30 p.m.
