Lula councilman hospitalized after being struck by a car

LULA — Lula City Council members paused during iMonday night's meeting to remember Councilman Lamb Griffin in their prayers.

Griffin, who has been on the council for nearly two decades, was injured when he was struck by a car on Ga. 51 at West County Line Road in Lula just before 5:30 Monday afternoon.

Following the meeting, Lula City Manager Dennis Bergin shared an update on Griffin’s condition.

“First, you need to know that Lamb is resilient,” Bergin said. “But unfortunately, he was involved in an accident today where apparently he was hit as a pedestrian. I talked with the family, and we want to keep him in our prayers. God bless them — they’re all such good folks. Believe it or not, it would appear that he is ok. They are going to keep him overnight. Looks like he may have some issues with some broken ribs. Keep him in your prayers for us.”

Bergin pointed to Griffin’s long tenure on the city council.

“He’s quite a fixture here in the great city of Lula and we’re fortunate to have him as a council member and a good man of faith,” Bergin said.
