ATHENS — Both the Flowery Branch girls and boys soccer teams took big road victories Friday night over Clarke Central in Region 8-AAAAA action.
The boys took a 2-1 win while the girls managed a 3-1 victory.
Fernando Castro and Jaden Harmon registered goals to give the Flowery Branch boys the victory. Luke Biasi and Carlos Servellon each had one assist for the Falcons (7-3-1, 2-1 Region 8-AAAAA).
For the girls (5-5, 2-1) Anna Grady, Halie Windish, and Caroline Wysocki each tallied a goal for the Lady Falcons. Allyson Lusco and Jessica Light both recorded an assist and Kelsey Mathis stopped six shots to earn the win in goal.
The Flowery Branch boys have won two straight while the Lady falcons snapped a two-match losing streak. Both teams face another huge region contest on the road on Tuesday traveling to rival Johnson.
