Lanier Islands Resort to hire hundreds of seasonal employees this month

The Georgia Department of Labor's Gainesville Career Center will host two hiring events for Lanier Islands during February.

Recruitment events for various seasonal and part time positions at Lanier Islands will be held Tuesday, February 14, and Monday, February 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the career center located at 2756 Atlanta Highway in Gainesville.

Manager of the Gainesville GDOL Career Office, Mark Winters, said Lanier Islands is looking to hire upwards of 400 individuals for the summer season.

"The resort is looking to fill positions such as lifeguards, concession attendants , security, cooks, cashiers and common area attendants . And some of these jobs can go permanent, not just for the summer season," said Winters.

Salaries for the positions will vary depending on the position.

Most positions available require applicants to be 16 years old, and some require them to be at least 18 years of age. All applicants attending the recruitment fair are asked to bring a resume, a driver’s license, necessary work permit(s) and are asked to dress appropriately as interviews will be conducted on site.

"Of course their target audience is individuals that have flexible schedules to work during the summer. They do target high school and college students that are off for the summer, however these positions can turn in to full time positions. Anyone looking for part time positions looking to go full time are invited to apply," Winters said.

Lanier Islands will also host additional recruitments on-site at the resort. Visit Lanier Islands to find out more about the company’s on-site recruitments.
