Ninth District Congressman Doug Collins sent a letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Friday urging it to expedite its review of the proposal regarding Hart State Park.
At issue, according to the letter, is a pending agreement between the City of Hartwell and the Corps concerning the management of the park.
The Gainesville Republican notes the City has proposed to revitalize the park and expand the recreational opportunities there.
Because of current budget constraints and the demands on the Corps' resources, Collins says he "firmly" believes the Corps would be "well served" by entering into management agreements for other of its entities.
