Public works crews with the City of Gainesville have begun pre-treating bridges, overpasses and some of the "historically" difficult streets in the city as a winter storm continues to threaten the area.
"We have 10 pallets of Calcium Chloride available (plus 2 in reserve) that will be mixed with gravel," a City Hall press release states.
City officials add that 16 employees now working 12 hours shifts from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
They say updates on street conditions, etc., will be posted on the city's Facebook page, Gainesville Georgia Government, throughout the weekend.
