Mill Creek blanks Dacula

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek shook off a lackluster first half with a dominating second half to pull away for a 30-0 shutout win over rival Dacula Friday night.

The top-ranked team in Class AAAAAAA led just 7-0 at halftime on a 66-yard pass from Cameron Turley to Edmond Graham that deflected off of two defenders before he grabbed it raced in for the score.

That was it for the first half.

The Hawks (3-0) exploded in the second half. Turley and Graham connected again on a 50-yard touchdown to open the third quarter and Ayoola Ogun-Seymore scooped up a Dacula fumble after a Moss Allen sack and strip of the Dacula quarterback for a 21-0 lead.

In the fourth quarter Anthony Presto scored on a 5-yard run and then the Mill Creek defense struck again recording a safety to close out the scoring.

The Mill Creek defense stoned a good Dacula running game holding the Falcons to just 37 yards on 18 carries for the game.

Turley finish 10-for-21 for 178 yards and Graham snagged seven catches for 154 yards.
