The Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club will once again host the Annual Hong Kong Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Lanier Olympic Park this year.
This year's event, which will be held Saturday, is expected to attract at least 77 teams from the Gainesville-Hall area, as well as metro Atlanta and the Southeast.
The opening ceremonies will feature the Dotting of the Eye of the Dragon, followed by performances by several Asian dance companies. There will be vendors, and corporate sponsors will have activities for children.
Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking fee for on-site parking. A $2-per-person shuttle will also be available from Amazing Grace Baptist Church or Hall County Credit Union.
