A suspect believed to be responsible for an armed home invasion was taken into custody Saturday.
Emmanuel Antonio Gonzalez-Fuerte, 19, is accused of brandishing a firearm during the alleged home invasion at the Lake Lanier Club Apartments on Canterbury Road, according to Cpl. Jessica Van.
"The suspect was known to the individuals inside the residence," said Van in a phone interview, adding that Gonzalez-Fuerte did not live at the apartment complex.
The crime reportedly happened Aug. 14.
Gonzalez-Fuerte is charged with aggravated assault, first-degree burglary, third-degree cruelty to children and possession of a gun during the commission of a felony.
Van said the child cruelty charge stemmed from children being in the apartment at the time, but no children were physically harmed in the incident.
