Deputies: Moving continues into new headquarters, should be operational Monday

The moving process continues for the Hall County Sheriff's Office as the department moves into its new headquarters on Browns Bridge Road.

Officials first broke ground on the project, which was funded by a Special Purpose Local Option Sales (SPLOST), in February 2015.

"We started moving (Thursday). In fact a bunch of the furniture from the old sheriff's office is being moved to the new building," said Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware in a phone interview.

The new site should be fully operational by Monday, said Ware.

The city of Gainesville purchased the old headquarters, and the new building will join the other two sheriff's office precincts in Braselton and Clermont.

"I'm very excited. It should be nice," said Ware.
