Six graduating high school seniors were recently named recipients of scholarships from the Habersham EMC Operation Round Up Scholarship Program.
The scholarships are made possible by HEMC members who voluntarily have their electric bills rounded up to the next dollar. The resulting change not only supports scholarships but also provides grants for non-profit organizations, individuals and families.
Annually, the HEMC Foundation provides $500 to $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors at schools throughout the EMC's six-county service area.
This year's recipients are:
• Resa Carroll, Rabun County High School
• Dillon Caudell, Habersham Central High School
• Davis Romario Mendez, Mountain Education (White County)
• Abigail Munoz, Mountain Education (Habersham County)
• Madison Pollitt, White County High School
• Taylor Nicole Trimiar, Tallulah Falls School
