Barrow firefighters save unconscious person from burning trailer in Auburn

An unconscious person was pulled from a burning trailer Thursday morning at a home in Auburn.

"Firefighters responded and found fire showing in the rear of the trailer and heavy smoke throughout the trailer," said Barrow County Fire Captain Scott Dakin in a news release.

The victim was pulled outside the trailer, which is located on Carter Road, and first responders immediately began treatment.

"They were able to pull that person out and start treatment right waya, and were actually able to revive her. She was conscious and alert prior to leaving the scene, Dakin said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, suffered smoke inhalation and other injuries, and was taken to an area hospital.

The fire was started by "an unknown human act." "It was determined to have started in the back bedroom, and the back bedroom suffered extensive fire damage and extended into the grass and a power pole as well," said Dakin. It remains under investigation.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the bedroom.

Dakin said a 911 call reporting the fire came in shortly before 9:30 a.m
