Gainesville Park and Rec holds registration for youth football and cheerleading

Gainesville Parks and Recreation announces registration for Youth Football and Cheerleading is underway.  The deadline for registration is July 8. Gainesville Parks and Recreation participates in the North Georgia Youth Football Association.

Participants will be divided into the following single age groups and will compete against teams from the North Georgia: 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, AND 12 & 13 YEAR OLDS (7TH GRADE DIVISION).  Eligible ages for tackle football are ages 6-13.  Sideline and Competition Cheerleading are offered for ages 5-12. Age is determined as of July 31, 2016. 

Following North Georgia Youth Football Association regulations, registration for tackle football and cheerleading will only be accepted for the following: 1. City residents OR 2. Attend a city school OR 3. Zoned to attend a city school though attend a private school within the city limits. 4. Must provide birth certificate and proof of residency.

The cost for youth tackle football and cheerleaders is $85 for city residents and $115 for non residents. For more information on these leagues and Rookie Flag Football for Ages 6-8, which has no residency restrictions, please visit www.gainesville.org/recreation or call 770.531.2680.
