ROYSTON — Northeast Georgia law enforcement personnel now are asking for the public's help to locate a wanted man who fled near Royston Thursday afternoon.
Zach Carey, already wanted on outstanding battery and assault warrants in Hart County, eluded a multi-agency ground and air search Thursday.
Carey now faces felony charges from Royston Police Department.
During Thursday's search, K-9 teams from Lee Arrendale State Prison, deputies from Franklin and Hart counties, troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell and GSP Aviation canvassed the area between Royston and Canon.
That search included the area of Dawkins Road, Campbell Ridge Road and Bryant Park Road.
Carey allegedly ran from Royston police officers Thursday. After traveling Starrs Bridge Road he and a female bailed out of the vehicle and ran on foot in the area of Ken Norris Road, officials said.
Carey is described as a white male, 5-foot-11, 200 pounds with tatoos down one arm.
Anyone who sees Carey or knows his whereabouts is asked call 9-1-1.
