A recount in the Jackson County Commission Chairman's race did not change the outcome of the election.
Incumbent Tom Crow will remain the chairman of the commission, defeating his Republican challenger by only 9 votes. Challenger Ben Stephens had asked for the recount. A total of 5,471 voters cast ballots in the race. Crow took 2,740 votes to Stephens' 2,731.
Elections officials went through the recount process Thursday morning.
