SUGAR HILL — The Gainesville boys and girls tennis teams took out Lanier by indentical 4-1 scorelines on Tuesday in Sugar Hill.
Katherine Wright took a three-set match, 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6), at No. 1 singles to help lead the Lady Red Elephants, while Haley Frankum won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Gainesville also swept the doubles points with the No. 1 team of Paige Patterson/Madi Kiser winning 6-1, 7-5 and the No. 2 team of Paige Ackerman/Sally Callahan winning 6-2, 6-2.
On the boys side, Gainesville's Reagan Williams cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Jackson Fox won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The Red Elephants also swept the doubles points, with the No. 1 team of Jeff Kiser/Trevor Munn prevailing 6-1, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Roan Thompson/Thomas Carter winning 7-6 (7-2), 6-0.
Gainesville's boys will resume a rainout match with Loganville on Wednesday at Longwood Park.
