Thursday will be the last day of garbage and recycling pickups in Gainesville this week.
That's because Friday is one of the days the city will use in observance of Christmas. The other is Monday.
However, garbage and recycling routes will resume on Monday although they will be "one day behind" through Wednesday, according to city officials. Regular service will resume next Thursday and Friday, Dec. 29 and 30.
