DAHLONEGA — The University of North Georgia men's basketball team opened up its 2016-17 home slate on the right foot Tuesday evening, beating the Bruins of Bob Jones, 93-64, with four Nighthawks hitting double digit scoring totals on the night. UNG improves to 2-1 on the year with the victory.
Marshall Riddle got BJU off to a fast start in the first half draining a three-pointer just 20 seconds into the game. The Bruins held the lead from that point up until the 14:03 mark when a Juan Rivas three tied the game at 14-14. North Georgia closed out the half strong with a 20-point advantage in the final 14 minutes of the half to enter halftime with a 49-29 lead.
The Bruins would pull within single digits twice in the second half put ultimately the Nighthawks proved to be too strong picking up the 93-64 win with a dominant performance in the closing 10 minutes of play.
