DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Former Lakeview Academy standout Blake McIntyre was on fire from the 3-point line on Tuesday night for the Unversity of North Georgia men's basketball team.

The sophomore guard set a new program all-time record with 11 3-pointers and a career-high 33 points to lead the Nighthawks (6-1) past Toccoa Falls, 89-57, at UNG Convocation Center. It was UNG's fourth straight win.

McIntyre currently is the team's second-leading scorer with 14.7 points per game. Frank Champion, who scored a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards, leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 ppg.

On Tuesday, both teams got off to a slow start where neither team put points on the board until the 17:05 mark, TFC jumped out to a 6-0 lead before UNG answered with a 9-0 run to take the lead for good. North Georgia led by 16 at halftime and stretched the lead out to as many as 34 before Toccoa Falls got a bucket as time expired.
