GAINESVILLE - For the second year in a row, a group of north Georgia agencies gathered in Hall County to talk about key emergency preparedness issues.
The 2nd Annual Homeland Security Summit was hosted Tuesday morning in Hall County.
Hall County Fire Marshall, Scott Cagle, said last year's meeting surrounded the topic of an ebola outbreak, and this year's key point of discussion was preparation for public shootings.
"Had a lot of questions about those active shooting situations, what agencies can do, how can they train better, how can they train better with their neighbors."
Directors at agencies such as the Georgia State Patrol, the National Guard and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation spoke to approximately 125 law officials at the event.
"It's always great to get these folks together under one roof. I think it's very important for them to brief our local officials, letting them know who they are, and most importantly, letting them know what resources they have available for local municipalities like Gainesville and Hall County," Cagle said.
The annual summit is held at the Hall County Government Center.
