By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

ATLANTA - The principal at West Hall High School, Scott Justus of Gainesville, has been reappointed to the state Professional Standards Commission.

A Suwanee woman has also been named to that board.  Teri Schneider is a teacher at Peachtree Ridge High School in Gwinnett County.

Just two weeks ago, the Dean of College Education at Brenau University, Sandra Lee Leslie of Gainesville, was named to the commission, which, according to its website,  http://www.gapsc.com/Commission/About.aspx, is responsible for the preparation, certification, and professional conduct of certified personnel employed in the state's public schools.  Its responsibilities also include such areas as supporting recruiting functions through the TeachGeorgia.org website.

Justus and Schneider are among a number of appointments to various state boards and commissions made by Deal in recent days.  Several other northeast Georgians are included.

They are: Sara Scott of Gainesville, the state Board of Cosmetology and Barbers; Chuck Little of Suwanee and Michael Beatty of Jefferson, state Workforce Development Board; and, Michael Tyson of Sugar Hill, Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission.
