Search continues for 'dangerous' Cornelia bank robbery suspect

By Rob Moore Reporter

CORNELIA - Law enforcement personnel are continuing their search for a man who robbed a Cornelia bank about 12:30 p.m. today, Dec. 22.

Police Chief Chad Smith said the lone male left on foot from Traditions Bank at 210 Cannon Bridge Road and is considered dangerous.

Smith said the man got into a black Nissan Versa four-door car.

Smith described the man as a slender- to medium-build black male with full beard, 5-foot-seven to 6-foot, wearing dark pants, a camo jacket over a possible tan hoodie, tan fishing hat and black gloves.

At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a Spiderman mask, Smith said.

"If anyone sees him, do not approach him," Smith said. "Call 9-1-1 immediately."

No one at the bank was injured, Smith said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation, Smith said.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man involved is asked to call Habersham Dispatch at (706) 778-3911.
