Search continues for 'dangerous' Cornelia bank robbery suspect

CORNELIA - Law enforcement personnel are continuing their search for a man who robbed a Cornelia bank about 12:30 p.m. today, Dec. 22.

Police Chief Chad Smith said the lone male left on foot from Traditions Bank at 210 Cannon Bridge Road and is considered dangerous.

Smith said the man got into a black Nissan Versa four-door car.

Smith described the man as a slender- to medium-build black male with full beard, 5-foot-seven to 6-foot, wearing dark pants, a camo jacket over a possible tan hoodie, tan fishing hat and black gloves.

At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a Spiderman mask, Smith said.

"If anyone sees him, do not approach him," Smith said. "Call 9-1-1 immediately."

No one at the bank was injured, Smith said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation, Smith said.
